Interesting read — a lot of what you say rings true. I think that the “traditional” method of becoming a career writer by submitting to magazines and journals is falling out of fashion. With so many self-publishing platforms like Medium and Amazon, it’s a lot easier to get your work out there now.

I definitely agree about the stats page. You never know what articles are going to gain massive amounts of traction, and which ones are going to flop. I’ve noticed that some of my best work that took me hours to write has gotten minimal engagement while something I wrote in an hour got me 2k views.
